Once I had an idea of how the leg would fit, I started cutting. I made the pants in several pieces. The upper and lower leg were separate and connected with brass rings evenly spaced. I was wearing the tights to better size the cloth. I cut the thigh piece up the side and stitched it in a cross pattern with the same wax twine used for the horns. This worked well for both a visual effect and durability.
Now that all the pieces were sized and the leg halves sewn together, I sewed the legs to the docker cut-offs. I then sewed on flaps of cloth to cover any exposed docker material. This also created a more rough medieval look. The faux fur was wrapped around my ankle and adjusted over the top of the hooves. I sewed them together to make a boot like fitting. I attached a piece of Velcro to the inside of the fur a few inched above the top of the hoof to the top of the shoe. This created a more natural joint look.
